Leslie Michaud, MD

Specialty: Orthopedic Conditions and Regenerative Medicine

Dr. Leslie Michaud is a highly experienced physician with a special interest in orthopedic conditions and regenerative medicine. She obtained her medical degree from the prestigious University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her internship and residency in family medicine at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Driven by her passion for providing noninvasive treatment options to her patients, Dr. Michaud sought further specialization in primary care sports medicine through a fellowship at the renowned Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas. During her training, she became fascinated with the field of biologics and its potential to revolutionize orthopedic care.

Injured patients often face unique challenges due to the nature of their injuries, which may include musculoskeletal damage, joint pain, ligament or tendon injuries, and other orthopedic issues. Traditional surgical interventions may not always be the best option for these patients, as they may be at higher risk for complications or may require a more conservative approach due to the nature of their injuries. Regenerative cellular therapies, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell treatments, offer a non-surgical and minimally invasive approach to promote tissue repair and regeneration. These therapies can help accelerate healing, reduce pain and inflammation, and improve overall function without the need for major surgery or prolonged recovery times.

Dr. Michaud believes in harnessing the body’s own natural healing ability through the use of regenerative medicine, as it can offer patients a safer and more effective alternative to traditional surgical interventions. Her goal is to provide her patients with the most advanced and personalized treatment plans that prioritize their well-being and offer them the best possible outcomes.

With a deep commitment to staying at the forefront of medical advancements, Dr. Michaud actively engages in ongoing research and is passionate about facilitating new advancements in the field of regenerative medicine. She also prioritizes patient autonomy and seeks to involve her patients in the advancement process, often asking for their permission to be part of research studies to track their progress.
